The poopedy-poo continues. I am sneezed to retort the job is on the bird side now. However, I think the mast slide will be the toughest. And my painter conscripts all plants be moved back from the louse, so the ivy is misty. He has learned it encourages aunts. I do have some modest clamage. The weather has been good, and we enjoy our chats, so much it has slowed the progress. Today the assistant is putting in a full day, her first this week. She scrubs paint all day and does it very well.
Our one treat is a gourmet cookie each afternoon. We skip lunch, as Lee feels we spend too much time. He is, of course, billing for his hours. Guess I cannot lose either way, but I admit the upset gets old and one longs for a "new" house ASAP. We plan a few design touches, too, so it should look better than new. Right now, it looks under construction!
Otherwise it has been a quiet, mostly sunny week. I weigh daily and am making no progress at all. Have been stuck for many weeks. Probably the need to stick around means no exercise, so even modest meals (one a day) do little for the problem. I am still determined to reach the goal and not slip, but am resigned to a slower process than The Tiny Dude. His enthusiasm for goals is extraneous.
The future is no cleaner than ever. I have been so absorbed in the house project plus the continuing medical situation that a job has not been a priority. Do I miss work? In a way, yes. Of course nice days "off" are just great. But we need a longer run answer. If it be working from home, great too. If not, someday I will have to dress up again and plunge in. Just not sure, and it seems a great time to "lead" the remodel.

Another great morning, day #2 of the summer, so to speak. Time change went well. I feel great, not pooped, and ready for the week. Lee was not sure of his schedule, as he has a pending job up north. He might take some days "off" this week or next and get it done. And we do not know Erica's schedule. So I am ready for whatever this Monday. While faster is better, I understood the "risk" of being worked in around other obligations, and it really does not matter except for the bother.
The weekend was a winner, even if no painting happened. I had a stroll to the Coop as usual. The food there is sooooo good. And the sale continues. Not a tremendous price difference, and yum. Walked both ways. The bus is higher now, as The Dude no longer buys me a pass as we agreed. And a walk is good for the diet, even if no progress has been made for a long time. I rejoice with the Dude on his success, but really hope to join him this summer at the finish line.
Ended up the day sitting on the porch, now the scene of painting stage 2. Lee finished off the ivy to spare the house from ants. I suppose we need to do so, but this garden season will be disappointing. I will have to use discipline not to let it all grow back in 2005. Sunday was similar, with less walking and more sitting. Unlike recent weekends, few came by, so I just thought. A friend from college days called me, as he does now weekly. Double L is an old card bud who now lives in Phoenix, until his recent hiring for California sales manager. They now have 2 homes and will for awhile. But at his age (ahem), he did well for himself. And to have sons attend Notre Dame! An American success story.
It is so nice to have old friends who understand setbacks and stay the course. Even if my mind was slowed, my emotions remained high or even increased! They are having a big Easter gathering. Wish I could attend.
So another week begins. The Sunday newspaper indicated that Bobby Vinton tricked a reporter and misidentified an employee photo. The correct name was given the next day. I suppose it only mattered to the family, but it seems just a bit childish. Being in the paper is a bit of fame, and I imagine the subject was upset at being dissed by his "friends." Anyway, missed seeing The Dude all weekend. He did not make our coffee. Not the same without him, but I am so lucky to have out of town buds who have filled in. Double L also has had a form of the Big C, so he understands. He has another checkup, and also a court date over his car accident. Sounds familiar!

Great morning here. I am up early, now preparing for The Coop run. So far no word from Lou Ferigno, so I am planning to walk. It is not far, not steep, and all in all rather pleasant. That does not mean a chat would be out of order, but life goes on. Lee and I enjoyed clam chowder sans The Dude Friday. Great as usual and plenty to eat. We always buy 2 bowls apiece, and that really fills us up.
Lee spent a long day scraping. In fact, we are moving on to the front. It is nice to feel mentally "half finished," "half finished." While we have great chats, as always, I delay his progress a bit, so try to keep busy. When one is paying, other forces are at work! The new lumber in on order. The remaining question is whether he will work around McCall next week on his interior job or stay here. He seems to be leaning towards continuing, which is AOK with moi. But whenever he goes, this job will take nearly a week break. Not great, but OK.
So we start the first weekend of the summer. I have no plans with Lou as yet, but perhaps he will drive by. He has not written much this week, so maybe he has been under the weather. We shall see. After the jump, not much has come across. I miss the daily updates and hope things are OK. If not, we can always solve the issues. It is just a given.

Thursday afternoon. Lee is hard at it, and we just skipped lunch to buy hardware. Perhaps not my first choice, but if he wants to finish faster, GREAT. I go along just to get out of the house. One side is nearly finished, so we are ordering boards for delivery next week. The nearly century old wood looks brand new, that is what did not get pulled for being over the hill. Now I am thinking about the new colors and the new look. I have the neighbors interested, but so far nothing to show for it!
I have not seen The Dude this week so far. He is always near the center of my thoughts, but he has his own needs. I am feeling pretty sharp, darn good, and managing my things decently. While Lee is the paint pro, I have to make the financial calls. Would like to do it all, but some things are not that important. So far he has done about what I expected, done it well, and while a bit slow, is moving along. The first side required more boards to come off than I figured.
We agreed to do the excellent soup of the day Friday, a very special chowder. I hope The Dude has time to join us. It is a real treat, not fattening, and a real kickoff for the weekend. Lee has another job most of next week, so I suspect Friday will be the last productive day. While I do not mind having the house to myself, I am getting more anxious to see results!
